Neil is happy to provide online or classroom based interactive workshops for staff of civil service departments facing workforce change or seeking to navigate processes for advancement. The focus will be around CS Success Profiles. Where commissioned by an employer Neil will clearly be addressed in the requirements of that employer (for example this may mean only focusing on development opportunities within the commissioning department).
As the former head of a trade union function Neil is used to adapting his offer around CS Success Profiles to suit needs around union learning. This may specifically include referencing where a learner may want to challenge particular approaches from an employer. Neil has also provided such workshops for employers to advise and prepare interviewers in order to avoid such challenges and this is something else he is happy to do. Neil has provided workshops focussing on career progression for Civil Service unions (including FDA, POA , Prospect and NAPO) supported by the Welsh Union Learning Fund.
Neil currently leads the Public Sector Mentoring and Development Scheme (PSDMS) for the FDA trade union. This includes providing events and interactions to support student and alumni employability through Civil Service Graduate Entry routes. The PSDMS is funded by the FDA who quite reasonably insist that their drivers (a focus on Modern Universities and showcasing the benefits of trade union membership) take priority. Neil will be happy to work with any commissioning University to their reasonable priorities.
